Signals picked up by collaborators from the world-wide radar screen which are shared without explanation to anyone who might be interested. What they have in common is that they are all on topic. (A possible analogy might be Mendelssohn's Songs without Words?)

  1. From Bernie Wagenblast's daily news clipping service "Transportation Communications" for items of interest bearing on sustainability. Archives at http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/transport-communications/.

As as example of the kinds of items Bernie occasionally covers, note that the internet services that tell you exactly when the next bus will arrive at your stop are really terrific support systems for encouraging bus use, and may make unncessary the expensive techology of real time displays at the bus stops themselves. For example my bus stop in Seattle for getting me downtown is monitored at http://onebusaway.org/where/standard/stop.action?id=13770 .
