World Streets Social Networking ABCs

In our world-wide outreach to readers we are trying to put to work the full range girl reeading bookof available contact and sharing tools to best serve and to make best use of these carefully developed networks. Among them a certain number of Facebook Groups which seem to lend themselves pretty well to these purposes, and also LinkedIn, Google+, YouTube, Scribd, Picasa (public photo galleries) and Twitter (still something of which we are hard pressed to see the fit, but one perseveres).

World Streets Facebook Sites

The idea in each case is to provide a 21st century "salon" for the Facebook community to meet, take up and exchange information and ideas of in each case a specific set of issues and concerns  which we regard as important.  These are definitely not "chat+ sites; we think of them as respectful peer groups discussions. The lists are lightly moderated to ensure that the discussions and announcements stay on focus.

The Editor's page is the most widely read (1565 readers) and most eclectic and hectic. From time to time it picks up postings that appear on other focus sites (below), because the editor wishes to call broader attention to them.  But for the most part, we try to organise this so that each of the twenty or so focus groups stick closely to topic.  These include:
