Curious about where carsharing is going?

All you have to do is check out these two maps which report the last eighty visitors (locations) to check into the World Carshare Consortium -- www.worldcarshare.com -- today and the pattern unfolds right before your eyes.

The world map leaves us once again with our nagging question: why are we not seeing carsharing in those broad white swaths, Latin America, Africa, ex-Soviet Union, most of South East Asia, and of course China? Is it because carsharing is a rich man's sport? We don't think so, and before running away from the challenge we invite you to dig deeper. (And be sure that we shall too.)

    Just to point out, that in Lisbon and Oporto, there is one carsharing operator in each city (although client base and service use are still minimal).
